With Appreciation as Tim Fournier Makes a Career Transition

Members of the Administrative Council:
 
I am writing to inform you that Senior Vice President for Enterprise Risk Dr. Timothy J. Fournier will be leaving the University on August 6 to take a position outside, but related to, higher education. Tim, who has been with Rutgers for the past five years, will become the chief operating officer for the Trellis Company, a nonprofit focused on ensuring college access and affordability through loan guarantees, education-finance research, and grants to help institutions improve student outcomes.
 
It has been my pleasure to have Tim serve in my cabinet over the past year. He has provided effective leadership in helping Rutgers manage and improve its enterprise risk management, ethics, audit and advisory, and compliance activities and thus protecting the university and its community. His achievements at Rutgers build on an impressive career that has included service as managing director for higher education at the Huron Consulting Group, associate vice president for research integrity at Northwestern University, and institutional compliance officer for the University of Pennsylvania and its health system. We take pride in his success at Rutgers and know he is well-prepared to excel at Trellis.
 
As Tim departs, the functional units currently under his direction—University Ethics and Compliance and Audit and Advisory Services—will report in the interim to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer J. Michael Gower. As we contemplate a national search for a new senior vice president, which will be announced at a later date, we will examine the portfolio of functions to consider any organizational revisions.
