Rutgers Welcomes the World, and Helps You Explore It
As a destination for international students and scholars and a globally networked university with hundreds of study abroad and research opportunities, Rutgers connects New Jersey to the world, and welcomes the world to New Jersey.
Study Abroad Programs
In today’s interconnected world, students who enter the workforce having had a strong global experience hold a significant advantage over their competition. Rutgers helps expand students’ global education through more than 180 study abroad and service-learning abroad programs. With scholarship offerings and opportunities in every region of the world regardless of major, studying abroad is an option for every Rutgers student, not just a select few.
Break Boundaries, Not the Bank
Every Rutgers student has access to opportunities for global learning that are academically rigorous, degree relevant, culturally transformative, and empower students to make an impact in local and global communities. The Access the World initiative puts 30 global destinations on the table that are comparable in cost or even more affordable than staying at Rutgers for a semester.
Rutgers Global Health Institute fosters collaboration across the university and with partners beyond Rutgers to improve the health of vulnerable populations. Locally and around the world, the institute promotes health equity by working with communities to create and implement comprehensive, long-term solutions to pressing global health challenges.
Rutgers is home to more than 9,000 international students and scholars from more than 125 countries. International students and scholars contribute significantly to advancements in education, research, and service. The Rutgers community benefits from these rich perspectives that help to globalize our classrooms, labs, and clinics.
