Internships and Career Success

Rutgers provides resources and connections to help students gain real-world experience through internships, field experiences, co-ops, and more, preparing them to be career-ready before graduation.

Experiential Learning: More Than Internships

While internships and employment are goals of many students upon graduation, some prefer additional field experiences or continuing education. According to the Class of 2025 post-graduation survey, 82% of students who participated in at least one experiential learning* opportunity achieved a positive career outcome**.

*Experiential learning opportunities include internships, co-ops, clinical/hospital rotation, graduate assistantship, field placement, student teaching, or academic research/lab projects.

**Positive career outcome is defined as employed full-time or part-time, enrolled in a program of continuing education, serving in the military, or participating in a volunteer or service program.
