Weather & Operating Status - February 27, February 28

The National Weather Service is forecasting a wintry mix expected to begin this evening and lasting into tomorrow afternoon with the greatest impact on our Newark and RBHS Newark campus. A winter storm warning is now in effect for northwestern New Jersey counties with a winter weather advisory called for Essex and other northern counties.

The City of Newark’s Department of Public Safety today asked that large employers consider delayed openings for tomorrow. Please note that the university remains open.

In order to accommodate the aforementioned, the following changes will be made to our operating status for Monday, February 27, and Tuesday, February 28.

  • Effective 6 p.m. this evening, classes, to the extent possible, will transition to online – in either synchronous or asynchronous mode. Instructors are asked to communicate their plans directly with their students.
  • Department heads are asked to allow remote work where feasible.
  • Employees deemed essential will be advised where and when to report by their supervisors.
