Robert Snyder Will Lead Off Daylong Program at Newark Museum on July 19

 

WHO:  Lead lecturer for the program is Professor Robert W. Snyder, director of the Graduate Program in American Studies at Rutgers University, Newark.  Snyder wrote, produced and directed the documentary short City Kids Meet Ashcan Art, which won a Gold Apple from the National Educational Media Network, and he co-authored Metropolitan Lives: The Ashcan Artists and Their New York, which won the Barr Prize of the College Art Association.  Snyder also is the author or editor of 12 books on New York City history and media studies.

BACKGROUND:  The Art in Depth program on July 19 runs from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.  in The Newark Museum; the program includes four talks, opportunities to speak with  Snyder and the other lecturers, and a guided tour of the museum’s permanent collection.
