LEARNING THE TOOLS OF THE TRADE Twenty students traveling to Louisiana next month to build homes for Hurricane Katrina victims with Habitat for Humanity arrived at 77 Street 1603 – Chris Small's carpentry shop on the Livingston Campus – and shed their jackets, scarves, and knit gloves. They donned thick work gloves and safety glasses that resembled sporting eyewear, with a cool red and silver tint. Then they worked with facilities staff who taught them how to build and erect wall frames, run electrical wire, saw and nail wood planks, and carry sheetrock in the proper manner.
