CAMDEN – Sewell resident Christine Graham is one of the best when it comes to marketing.  Just ask the Philly Ad Club, which has named the undergraduate marketing major at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden a “Rising Star.”

Nominated by their professors, “Rising Stars” are outstanding students who are majoring in advertising, communications, journalism, marketing, or graphic design and are interested in pursuing a career in one of these areas. The 2008 winners were featured in the most recent edition of Ad News, published by the Philly Ad Club.

Graham, who will graduate this May, interns at Subaru of America’s national headquarters, where she helps to develop a variety of marketing and communications materials.

“My experience at Subaru of America continues to be phenomenal. It is very nice waking up and wanting to go to work,” says Graham, a 2005 graduate of Washington Township High School. “My managers at Subaru are my mentors, and they continue to teach me new things every day. I don’t think I could have interned at a better place.”

Last semester, Graham’s work with fellow classmates on a marketing campaign for Cascadian Farm organic products earned her group “Best Overall Plan,” as well as an induction into an unofficial student “advertising hall of fame” at the Rutgers–Camden business school.

After graduation, Graham aims to work in event production, sponsorships and promotions.

Julie Ruth, an associate professor of marketing at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden, nominated Graham for the "Rising Star" award.

“We are so proud of Christine and all that she has accomplished to date,” says Ruth. “We are looking forward to watching her Rising Star qualities and contributions continue as she moves toward graduation and her career in marketing.”
