Safe Haven for Mother and Child
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick and University Hospital in Newark, the Rutgers teaching hospitals for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and New Jersey Medical School, were named to Newsweek magazine’s list of Best Maternity Hospitals for 2021. Criteria included lower rates of C-sections, early elective delivery, and episiotomy; bilirubin screening for all newborns; and blood clot prevention techniques for mothers undergoing C-section procedures. The hospitals were among 217 health care facilities in the United States selected for the designation.
