(Newark, N.J., July 18, 2007) --During recent ceremonies, the Rutgers Graduate School-Newark (GS-N) recognized graduates who have demonstrated high levels of academic accomplishment. The Graduate School, which offers both Masters and doctoral programs in a wide range of disciplines, ranging from American Studies to urban systems, awarded 57 Ph.D.s and 149 masters degrees in 2007.

Below is a list of GS-N students who received awards and their hometowns:

YANG QIN, Ph. D., EDISON, N.J., received the DEANS DISSERTATION AWARD, for outstanding doctoral dissertation.

RICHARD C. HEIMBUCH, M.S., BRICK, N.J., was awarded the ELIZABETH FENLASON AWARD, the Nursing Alumni award for high academic achievement, commitment to graduate education and well articulated professional goals.

AUDRITA TRISANN CRAWFORD, M.S., NEWARK, N.J., and KIERSTEN STEFFENS SMITH, Ph.D., NUTLEY, N.J., were each recipients of the MINORITY BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH SUPPORT PROGRAM AWARD.
