The two-day event, featuring recruiters from some 300 employers, is set from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 at Jersey Mike's Arena at Livingston campus

Rutgers University–New Brunswick will host its Spring Career and Internship Mega Fair, one of the largest and most diverse recruiting efforts in the nation.

Recruiters from some 300 employers will be available during the two-day event at Livingston campus to network with candidates to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields.

The spring fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, and Friday, Feb. 17, at Jersey Mike's Arena, 83 Rockafeller Road, Piscataway. The event is open to Rutgers students and alumni from all academic disciplines and locations (New Brunswick, Camden, Newark and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences). There will be more than 160 booths each day featuring a different pool of employers.

More than 2,500 candidates are expected to visit the fair each day, according to the Office of Career Exploration and Success, which is organizing the event.

“We had lines out the door,” Kait Weiss, the office’s associate director of strategic outreach, said of the fall recruitment fair.

Janet Jones, director of industry and student connections at the Office of Career Exploration and Success, said more than 6,100 job and internship seekers attended the fall fair and employer spots were sold out ahead of the spring fair’s “early bird” registration deadline.

I think employers really value our Rutgers brand, meaning our students and what they possess. They see our students as hardworking and motivated.

“This is only the second time in 37 years that I've seen that happen,” said Jones, adding that organizers have extended the fair each day by an hour so there is more time for students to meet with recruiters.

“My hunch is that employers who are coming back have still not completed their recruiting process,” Jones said. “I think employers really value our Rutgers brand, meaning our students and what they possess. They see our students as hardworking and motivated. They're career-ready, they're highly skilled and they're good communicators as a rule.”

Jones said the spring event “is a great opportunity to network because while you might not walk away with a job in hand after, the relationship starts somewhere – and usually it's at a career fair with the recruiters that you meet and keep in touch with afterward.”

Employers sponsoring this year’s spring fair include ADP Inc., AlphaSights Ltd., Beacon Building Products, Enterprise Holdings Inc., FDM Group (Holdings) PLC, FirstEnergy Corp., GAF Materials LLC, ICF, Johnson & Johnson, L3Harris Technologies Inc., Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages LLC, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, SHI International Corp. and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.

Other employers participating in the event include Amtrak, Campbell Soup Co., Capital Health, CentraState Healthcare System, CVS Health Corp., LG Electronics Inc., M&T Bank Corp., Target Corp., United Parcel Service Inc.

The fair will be segmented by businesses and organizations that are recruiting for technical roles (science, technology, engineering, computer science and health), nontechnical jobs (business, arts, communications and education) and both technical and nontechnical posts.
