Schroeder comes to Answer with an extensive knowledge of sexuality education programs, policies and politics; national and international connections with key organizations and individuals; and a passion for Answer’s work in comprehensive sexuality education.
Schroeder has served as a training consultant for Answer’s Sexuality Education Training Initiative, which trains more than 2,700 educators and other professionals nationwide per year. “As a consultant for Answer for the past ten years, I’ve long known and been impressed by the organization’s myriad accomplishments and by the depth of its impact within the sexuality field,” Schroeder said.
Lew Gantwerk, executive director of the Center for Applied Psychology at Rutgers, said that the Center is truly fortunate that Schroeder’s career path has led her to Answer and to Rutgers.
“Dr. Schroeder’s national reputation, her dedication to the field of sexuality education and her boundless energy will provide a springboard for further growth and development of our program,” Gantwerk said. “Answer and Dr. Schroeder are a perfect match.”
Since 2000, Schroeder has trained thousands of youth-serving professionals, adolescents and parents in the United States and overseas. She has presented at national conferences and written extensively about sexuality and relationship issues. She is a cofounding editor of the American Journal of Sexuality Education, coauthor of Making SMART Choices: A Curriculum for Young People and Being Out, Staying Safe: An STD Prevention Curriculum for LGBQ Youth.
