The Rutgers University–Camden Department of Fine Arts will present its annual collaborative holiday concert, “Sounds of the Season,” featuring three of the music program’s prominent ensembles, as well as soloists and several Rutgers–Camden faculty members performing seasonal selections.

The concert, which is free and open to the general public, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, in the Walter K. Gordon Theater on the Rutgers–Camden Campus.

The Rutgers–Camden Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Eric Polack, a part-time lecturer of music, will perform a series of instrumental selections that put a classically jazzy spin on some holiday tunes.

Other performances will include smaller student ensembles, a double bass quartet playing a holiday hymn, and the string ensemble performing several classical pieces.

The concert will then feature the Rutgers University Singers, under the direction of Julia Zavadsky, a part-time lecturer of music at Rutgers–Camden, performing seasonal favorites, such as “Sleigh Ride,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear.” Zavadsky will conclude the concert with a community singalong.

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Gordon Theater is located in the Fine Arts Complex on Third Street, between Cooper Street and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, on the Rutgers–Camden campus.
