CAMDEN — The Rutgers School of Business–Camden will be offering two new professional degree programs to help working professionals advance their education and receive their master’s degree without disrupting their full-time career.

The professional master of business administration (PMBA) and professional master of accountancy (PMAc) degree programs will be offered beginning August 2011.

“These new programs are designed to make it convenient for the working professional to go through a rigorous graduate program while handling the demands of their job and personal life,” says Jaishankar Ganesh, dean of the Rutgers School of Business–Camden.  Ganesh also notes that participants of this program will have the advantage of receiving their master’s degree from an AACSB-accredited institution taught by world-class Rutgers faculty.

“Participants will benefit from being part of an exceptional cohort of professionals,” Ganesh says.  “They will be able to expand their network and collaborate with individuals throughout different industries.  The professional master’s degree programs also equip participants with an abundance of new knowledge and experience that they can use to advance their careers.”

The PMBA program is a 21-month accelerated degree track offered at the Wyndham Princeton Forrestal and Conference Center in Princeton.  Classes meet on Saturdays and the program will include a week-long international residency to experience international business cultures and to visit various multinational companies.  Participants will be able to apply concepts learned in class to real-world international settings by witnessing the operations of companies’ global and multi-cultural business environments.

The PMAc program is a 16-month accelerated degree offering that will take place at the Camden County Boathouse at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken.  The program’s curriculum will help participants meet the 150-hour education requirement to sit for the CPA examination.  Classes meet on Monday and Thursday evenings and include a two-month recess during the months of March and April, to accommodate the especially high volume of work in accounting firms at those times.

The Rutgers School of Business–Camden takes care of all of the administrative aspects of the program including course registration, tuition processing, and the ordering and distribution of textbooks, class materials, parking decals, and graduation regalia.

Admission criteria includes a minimum of three years of full-time, progressive, and relevant work experience; a four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university or institution; evidence of academic strength, as shown by undergraduate GPA and GMAT or GRE scores; submission of two letters of recommendation; and an interview.
