NEWARK, NJ – The Hon. John E. Wallace, Jr., retired justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, will deliver the 30th Annual Chief Justice Joseph Weintraub Lecture on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Rutgers School of Law–Newark

Justice Wallace will present “Little Known Facts About Three U.S. Supreme Court Justices Born in New Jersey.” The lecture, sponsored by the law school and its Alumni Association, will begin at 6 pm.

A graduate of the University of Delaware and Harvard Law School, Justice Wallace was appointed to the Superior Court of New Jersey in 1984, promoted to the Appellate Division in 1992, and nominated and confirmed to the Supreme Court in 2003. During his years on the Superior Court, he served in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions.

Justice Wallace has been a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Task Force for Minority Concerns, New Jersey Ethics Commission, Judiciary Advisory Committee on Americans with Disabilities Act, Supreme Court Special Committee on Matrimonial Litigation, and Appellate Division Rules Committee. He also chaired the Supreme Court Ad Hoc Committee on Admissions.

In his current role as counsel at Brown & Connery, LLP, Justice Wallace concentrates his practice in mediation, arbitration and complex litigation.
