Michael Beschloss, best-selling author of such books as Presidential Courage: Brave Leaders and How They Changed America, 1789-1989; The Conquerors: Roosevelt, Truman and the Destruction of Hitlers Germany, 1941-1945; and Taking Charge: The Johnson White House Tapes, 1963-1964. Beschloss also serves as presidential historian for NBC News.

Presidential Courage, a public talk with free general admission seating, is part of the Eagleton Institute of Politics lecture series, Because Politics Matters: Election 2008, and the Rutgers Presidential Forum. BACKGROUND: Beschloss is an award-winning presidential historian and the author of nine books, including his most recent, Presidential Courage. As NBC News presidential historian, he appears regularly on Meet the Press and Today. He is a regular commentator on PBS' The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. In 2005, he won an Emmy for his role in creating the Discovery Channel series Decisions that Shook the World, of which he was the host.
