Juvenile Wrongful Conviction – Causes, Effects and Remedies – Topic of April 9 Symposium at Rutgers–Newark Law School

NEWARK, NJ – National scholars and practitioners in juvenile justice policy, indigent defense, criminal law, and wrongful convictions will speak at the symposium “Righting the Wronged: Causes, Effects, and Remedies of Juvenile Wrongful Conviction,” to be held at Rutgers School of Law–Newark on Friday, April 9, 2010. Sponsored by the Rutgers Law Review, the National Juvenile Defender Center, and the Northeast Juvenile Defender Center, the program will consider interrogation and eyewitness identification techniques, adolescent development, racial and cultural disparity, and access to counsel – all of which contribute to the wrongful conviction of juveniles.
