My Rutgers Portal screen shots

The myRutgers portal that is used by all members of the university community for a variety of services including to view grades, transcripts, paychecks or benefits has gotten a makeover for the new year.

The Office of Information Technology recently debuted a new version of myRutgers, which includes an updated dashboard, new features and a more personalized experience based on your role at the university.

The self-service portal is known as the one-stop shop for online services at Rutgers. Logging in to myRutgers with your NetID and password provides access to academic, financial, and employee self-service applications as well as email, calendars, alerts, forms, and more.

Aside from the refreshed design of the new myRutgers portal, users can now engage with members of the university through a new community hub, which features a social space for groups and forum discussions. Additionally, university news from various sources can be accessed through a centralized news area and there’s an interactive map to search for buildings, parking information, and bus routes.

The new myRutgers is also available as a mobile app, replacing the older Rutgers mobile application. Users can get access to key information and services at Rutgers on-the-go, request directions and receive important alerts through push notifications. The new app is available for download on Android and iOS devices.

“A goal of developing the new version of myRutgers was for faculty, staff, and students to have access to information and services at Rutgers anywhere, anytime, with a mobile-first design that accommodates all devices and screen sizes,” said David Badger, executive IT director in the Office of Information Technology. “The new version allows users to customize their dashboard layout, assign favorites tags to Rutgers services they use most, participate in university forums, and have real time bus information and campus navigation.”

The Rutgers community had a sneak peek of the new version over the past few months as the Office of Information Technology conducted a soft launch of the new myRutgers portal starting in October 2023. Users were able to toggle back and forth between the classic and the new version, but early in 2024, the new myRutgers portal will become the official sole version.
