(NEWARK, N.J., DEC. 5, 2008) -- This year’s student Fed Challenge team, fielded by the Economics Department at Rutgers University in Newark, continues its predecessors’ tradition of making the campus proud.
The six-member team survived tough challenges to make it to the semi-finals, an accomplishment equaled by only six other colleges in the competition. The team won the first round of its competition Nov. 10, at the New York Federal Reserve, besting four other schools.
The team then advanced to the semi-finals of the eighth annual College Fed Challenge at the New York Federal Reserve on Nov. 21. “I'm very proud of our team,” states department chair John Graham. “They placed among the seven semi-finalists in the overall competition, which began with 38 teams on Nov. 10.”
