The Classes of 2020 and 2021 celebrated their graduation in the fall after in-person commencements were not possible because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A high point was the appearance of rapper Snoop Dogg, who performed for graduates and students universitywide in October at SHI Stadium in Piscataway. The schools of Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences held celebration events in October throughout the New Brunswick campus. Rutgers University–Newark celebrated in early November with ceremonies at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. And Rutgers University–Camden honored its two classes in November at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden; several schools also celebrated their graduates in separate events that week. “We are excited to bring our newest alumni together in person to honor their accomplishments,” said Rutgers president Jonathan Holloway. “The Classes of 2020 and 2021 are a resilient group who have endured unexpected challenges with remarkable grace.’’
