The coronavirus pandemic has been particularly onerous for nurses, many of them facing mental health challenges. Nurse2Nurse, a new confidential helpline (844-687-7301), connects them with retired or former nurses trained in mental health. The service, which provides one-on-one peer support, virtual support groups, and wellness webinars, was introduced by the Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care National Call Center and the New Jersey Nursing Initiative. More than 200,000 nurses in New Jersey now have access to Nurse2Nurse. The helpline, which joins eight other helplines directed by Rutgers, is funded by the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, a program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and a collaborative program of the New Jersey Hospital Association.
