In the best of times, art provides solace for the soul; in the worst of times, it is needed more than ever. With the COVID-19 outbreak, however, museums and art galleries are closed as people social distance, leaving everyone from preschoolers to art connoisseurs high and dry. The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University–New Brunswick has partnered with Google Arts and Culture, becoming one of more than 2,500 museums and galleries worldwide that are offering virtual tours of their galleries and collections. The Zimmerli is also sharing downloadable art for children to color and is presenting a tour on Instagram of its Everyday Soviet exhibition, part of the museum’s renowned collection from Russia’s Soviet era.
