Rutgers–Camden Theater Program to Present Festival of Student-Directed One-Act Plays
The Rutgers University–Camden Theater Program will kick off its spring 2015 lineup with a series of new plays in the annual Student-Directed One-Act Play Festival.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11 to Saturday, Friday, Feb. 14, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15 in the Black Box Studio Theater on the Rutgers–Camden campus.

This year, the festival brings to life five new short plays, which have been penned in a variety of styles – from outrageous comedy to contemporary tragedy – and include pieces written by Rutgers–Camden students and alumni.
The festival is entirely directed, performed, and produced by Rutgers–Camden students.
The plays and performers, along with hometowns and high schools attended, are as follows:
“Vestige,” written by senior history major Sean Lynch, a resident of Collingswood and a graduate of Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, and directed by senior theater major Alexis Cabrera, a resident of Camden and a graduate of Camden Academy Charter High School.
“Amorica,” written by playwright Nick Zagone and directed by senior theater major Alex Scheinberg, a resident of Collingswood and a graduate of Collingswood High School.
“Family 2.0,” written by playwright Walter Wykes and directed by senior theater major Katrina Hall, a resident of Philadelphia.
“Auxiliary Animals,” written by Sean Haughey and Paolo Pajarillo, and directed by alumnus André Pajarillo, a resident of Magnolia and a graduate of Triton Regional High School.
“Leonora’s Dinner,” written by Cooper Gorelick, a 2014 graduate of Rutgers–Camden, and directed by senior theater, philosophy, and religion major Michael Hess, a resident of Laurel Springs and a graduate of Highland Regional High School.
James Mobley, technical director of the theater program at Rutgers–Camden, is the set and lighting designer. Costume design is by Kristina Sneshkoff, a visiting part-time lecturer at Rutgers–Camden, and Sean Quinn, a 2014 graduate of Rutgers–Camden. Sound design is by Stefán Örn Arnarson, technical theater coordinator at Rutgers–Camden. Stage management duties are held by senior biology major Ydian Velez, a resident of Cherry Hill and a graduate of Camden County Vocational and Technical School.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $7 for non-Rutgers students with a valid ID. Rutgers–Camden students may obtain two tickets free of charge at the Impact Booth in the Campus Center with their Rutgers University ID.
The Black Box Theater is located in the Fine Arts Complex on Third Street, between Cooper Street and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge on the Rutgers–Camden campus.
