CAMDEN — From contract disputes and labor negotiations to superstar athletes’ run-ins with the law, the sports and legal worlds often collide.  The Rutgers School of Law–Camden is hosting a symposium that will focus on the relationship between the two from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 28.

“A Discussion Regarding the Interplay between Sports and Law” is sponsored by Rutgers–Camden’s Sports and Entertainment Law Society and the Recent Graduate Council at the Rutgers School of Law–Camden.

The event will include a moderated discussion focused on the intersecting paths of sports and law in both professional and collegiate sports.  Participating panelists include George Atallah, the National Football League Players Association’s director of external affairs; Baltimore Ravens player Domonique Foxworth, who is a member of the National Football League Players Association’s Executive Committee; registered NFL agent James Ivler; and Adam Taliaferro, a 2008 graduate of the Rutgers School of Law–Camden, former college football player, and associate at the law firm Duane Morris.

The free symposium will be held in the Campus Center, located on Third Street, between Cooper Street and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge on the Camden Campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

The Sports and Entertainment Law Society at Rutgers–Camden creates a greater knowledge of the sports and entertainment industries, sports and entertainment law, and related areas amongst its membership and the larger Rutgers–Camden law community.

The Recent Graduate Council is comprised of Rutgers–Camden law alumni who have graduated within the past 15 years.
