DARK SKY, BUT BRIGHT FUTURES The university conferred nearly 11,000 baccalaureate, master, and doctoral degrees at the annual commencement ceremony on Voorhees Mall in the historic heart of the New Brunswick Campus. Eight luminaries received honorary degrees, and friends and family ran to escape rains looming from a darkened sky after Rutgers President Richard L. McCormick, above, cut short the ceremony.
