Alumna Meagan McClelland played her last game as goalie and remained the NCAA Division I career leader in shutouts, with 43. She also set the NCAA record for all-time minutes played.

In their first encounter ever, the Scarlet Knights women’s soccer team (13-5-2), ranked No. 24 nationally, lost to fifth-seed Brown (13-2-2), 1–0, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in November. Rutgers was making its 11th straight tournament appearance and has a record of 15-12-9 in the Big Dance. Appearing earlier in the Big Ten Tournament, seventh-seed Rutgers lost to second-seed Northwestern, 2–1, in the quarterfinals. Playing in her last game, graduate student goalkeeper Meagan McClelland RBS’22 remained the NCAA Division I career leader in shutouts, with 43, eight of them coming this year. She also set the NCAA record for all-time minutes played with 9,482:27.
