The School of Public Health seeks to improve health and prevent disease in diverse populations in New Jersey, the country, and the world through the education of students who will become well-qualified and effective public health leaders, scholars, and practitioners; conducting research to advance public health science and policies; and providing service programs based on active community engagement that promote population and individual health. The school provides an exceptional, high-quality education that is accessible, affordable, and designed to accommodate today’s working professionals. This school offers the master of public health (M.P.H.); master of science (M.S.) in biostatistics; master of science (M.S.) in health outcomes, policy, and economics; and the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in public health degrees, as well as dual degrees and postbaccalaureate certificates that also may be combined with any of our graduate degrees. Programs are offered in Newark and New Brunswick in 10 concentration areas and through intensive intersession courses at our global sites. The school’s interdisciplinary centers enable faculty, staff, students, and alumni to be involved with many different public health issues affecting the state, the nation, and the world.
