RUTGERS TO UNVEIL FINDINGS FROM FIRST-EVER COMPREHENSIVE

PUBLIC OPINION POLL OF NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS ON HEALTH CARE

WHAT:

Presentation of findings from a Rutgers Center for State Health Policy (CSHP) study of New Jersey residents opinion on health reform. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded the poll.

The studys primary author, CSHP Director Joel Cantor, will be joined by Professor of Public Policy Cliff Zukin, former director of Rutgers Eagleton Poll and past president of the American Association for Public Opinion Research.

BACKGROUND: The new poll will reveal how New Jerseyans view the states health care system and their attitudes on health reform. The researchers will present data showing that residents are not content with health care in New Jersey and are nearly unanimous on the need for reform.

The Center for State Health Policy at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, informs, supports and stimulates sound and creative health policy in New Jersey and the nation. CSHP provides impartial policy analysis, research, training, facilitation and consultation on important state health policy issues. Established in 1999 with substantial funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the center is part of the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research.
