Rutgers Today is an online news center that provides a daily stream of news and events taking place on Rutgers’ three campuses to audiences both inside and outside of the university. The website showcases the best that Rutgers has to offer – groundbreaking research, public service, scholarship, exhibitions, performances, and stories about outstanding Rutgers students, faculty, and staff.
Videos and photo galleries exist side-by-side with breaking news and features of general interest. The website also provides links to external media coverage about Rutgers, the state of New Jersey, and the broader arena of higher education.

Executive Editor Greg Trevor 732-932-7084, ext. 623 Email: gtrevor@ur.rutgers.edu Greg Trevor has served as senior director of the Office of Media Relations at Rutgers since March 2004. He was previously a senior information officer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Greg managed the Port Authority's regional and national media campaign promoting the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. |

Managing Editor Carla Cantor 732-932-7084, ext. 607 Email: ccantor@ur.rutgers.edu Carla Cantor joined the Office of Media Relations in 2002. She had served as editor of Rutgers Focus, the university's faculty and staff publication, since 2003, becoming managing editor of the university's news center in 2009. Before coming to Rutgers, she was the editorial director of the health channel at America Online. Carla also has worked as an editor at CBS HealthWatch and as director of publications at New York University Medical Center. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and a master's degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. |

Assistant Director - New and Emerging Media Karen Ayres Smith 732-932-7084, ext. 650 Email: ksmith@ur.rutgers.edu Karen Ayres Smith joined the the Office of Media Relations in April 2009 after four years at The Dallas Morning News and Dallasnews.com, where she served as an education reporter and later breaking news editor for online content. From 2001 to 2005 she was a reporter for the Trenton Times, covering education, government, and general assignments. She also taught a reporting class at The University of Texas at Arlington, preparing students to deliver news through a variety of forms, including video, blogs, and social media. |

Assistant Managing Editor - Features Andrea Alexander 732-932-7084, ext. 615 Email: aalexander@ur.rutgers.edu Andrea Alexander joined the Office of Media Relations in 2011 after working 14 years as a print journalist at several publications, including The Times of Trenton, Congressional Quarterly, The Asbury Park Press, and most recently The Record in Hackensack. She has written extensively about education, politics, land use and food issues. Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The College of New Jersey and a diploma in baking and pastry from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. |
