Degree or Nondegree?

Your personal and professional goals determine how you join the Rutgers community.

Degree Track

If you are seeking to earn a degree, whether undergraduate or graduate, follow our regular admissions procedures. Our university colleges and off-campus programs cater to the needs of nontraditional students.

Nondegree Path

If you want to obtain a nondegree certificate or certification or simply pursue an interest, you can register through our online, noncredit course catalog. Most programs don't have specific admission requirements. Some courses may earn you credits if you do decide to enroll in a degree program.

Continuing Education Units are available for many of our programs. This internationally recognized measure is used for courses related to professions that require continual licensure, such as engineering, education, social work, and health professions.

If you are looking to obtain Continuing Education Units, you can explore programs by school or search for courses and then click to a detailed course description that lists any "CEUs Earned." You can also contact the program's host department.

Still considering what course you'd like to follow? Explore our lifelong-learning offerings.

One-Stop Registration

Take advantage of all we offer. Once you register for one continuous education program, you're in the system. That streamlines the process for you when you decide to take another course or participate in other offerings. Learn more.
